Meet John F. Furth, Executive Performance and Leadership Coach
As a CEO, business owner, or senior executive, do you ever feel you could achieve more — but aren’t entirely sure what’s actually getting in the way? Then you’re in the right place.
About John F. Furth
John F. Furth’s website serves as both a business development platform and a thought leadership hub for executive coaching, leadership development, and purposeful retirement planning. Through Furth & Associates, John leverages decades of high-level corporate, consulting, and coaching experience to help executives, business owners, and senior leaders achieve performance-driven transformation. His work is grounded in practical frameworks that accelerate professional success while supporting deeper personal fulfillment and long-term impact.
A Commitment to Performance and Growth
The leaders who work with me develop a clear sense of what they stand for, where they’re going, and how to move forward without draining themselves or their teams. They stop operating reactively. They start leading deliberately.
My path here has taken a few turns:
Harvard. NYU Stern. Global strategy consulting. Becoming a CEO. Then coaching high-level leaders through transformation, reinvention, and the complex decisions no one else sees. Each chapter gave me a front-row seat to what separates steady leaders from exceptional ones — and why so many capable
executives still hit ceilings.
Here’s the truth: Most leaders don’t need more information. They need a structure for turning ambition into performance and clarity into action.
That’s why I built two frameworks that anchor all my work:

The Owning Tomorrow Performance Model
A precise system for aligning mindset, behavior, and direction so leaders achieve outcomes that actually matter.
Check My Book:
Owning Tomorrow: The Unstoppable Force of Disruptive Leadership
Great disruptive leaders like Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Reed Hastings have transformed companies, industries, and entire societies while generating incredible wealth for themselves, their investors, employees, as well as thousands, if not millions, of other people.
Owning Tomorrow: The Unstoppable Force of Disruptive Leadership is intended to help leaders with ambitions to develop themselves and their organizations far beyond what they thought was possible.
The Six Plus Two P’s of Leadership
A practical roadmap for leading with focus, accountability, and intentional discipline — especially in times of transition or reinvention.
I’ve designed and delivered more than 2,000 workshops, coached CEOs and founders across industries, and guided Executives Over 50 as they build powerful “third acts” instead of drifting into them. My approach is direct, strategic, and grounded in real-world leadership — not theory.
If you’re ready to sharpen your performance, elevate your leadership, and create the next chapter on your terms, let’s talk. Your future won’t build itself.

Other Popular Speeches and Workshops
Over 50 and Suddenly an Entrepreneur
Designed for professionals ready to build a business instead of another career, this program helps participants uncover purpose, avoid common startup pitfalls, and create meaningful work later in life.
The Achilles Heel of the Hyper-Achieving CEO
This session explores how ambition and drive can unintentionally sabotage success, relationships, and well-being—and how to shift behaviors for sustainable performance.
The Retirement Conundrum: To Be or Not to Be
Participants challenge assumptions about post-corporate life, transform uncertainty into excitement, and discover how to use experience and wisdom to create impact.

Beyond Models: The Journey of Personal Transformation
While performance and leadership frameworks can be explained and taught, personal transformation is far more difficult to define. Every individual’s journey is unique, shaped by experience, beliefs, fears, and aspirations. In my experience, lasting transformation cannot be reduced to a checklist or guidebook.
For me, real transformation requires a lifelong commitment to wisdom. The gateway to that wisdom is
empathy—both for oneself and for others. Empathy is not sympathy or pity; it is the ability to understand thoughts, emotions, and motivations with minimal judgment. It allows leaders to see situations clearly and respond thoughtfully rather than reactively.
Empathy, Truth, and Wise Leadership
I often describe empathy as a form of X-ray vision—the ability to see through people and situations to understand what is truly happening beneath the surface. Truth is the foundation of wisdom, and wisdom enables leaders to navigate difficult situations, innovate confidently, and act with courage.
When leaders operate from truth and empathy, they gain the freedom to challenge assumptions, make better decisions, and create environments where people can perform at their best. This perspective underpins all of my coaching, speaking, and advisory work.

What You Can Expect When Working With Me
When you engage me for a speech, workshop, or training session, you can expect an immersive experience tailored to your audience. My programs blend real-life stories, relevant research, and disruptive ideas that open new possibilities. Interactive exercises are designed to generate insight, spark “aha” moments, and create immediate relevance.
Participants also leave with practical, easy-to-implement techniques they can apply right away—whether to improve leadership effectiveness, navigate transition, or make progress on a deeply personal goal.
Lessons From Fear and Experience
Fear is one of the most powerful barriers to meaningful action. It kept me from starting my own venture until I was 63. When I finally achieved the success I had been working toward, I was left asking why I had waited so long. The fears I faced—failure, rejection, financial instability, looking foolish—are the same fears many executives and entrepreneurs carry quietly.
Self-limiting beliefs and distorted perceptions can be just as restrictive as fear itself. Over the years, I have learned to help others recognize and live productively with these internal barriers by sharing tools and techniques that have worked in my own life and career.
Creating Self-Awareness and Momentum
This work includes learning how to truly listen to inner voices, clarifying purpose, and eliminating patterns of self-sabotage. These practices are designed to build greater self-awareness and empathy, allowing leaders to stop disempowering themselves and those around them.
Clients leave sessions energized, clear on their direction, and committed to pursuing larger, more challenging outcomes—regardless of fears, beliefs, or perceptions that once stood in their way.
